Katsina State is one of the 36 states in Nigeria which is popularly called “Home of Hospitality”. it was formed in 1987 from part of Kaduna State. From pre-colonial times to the present, Katsina state has always been the shining star of the North. The State is bounded in the East by Kano State, in the West by Sokoto State, in the South by Kaduna State and in the North by the Niger Republic.
Katsina State is the largest cotton producer in the country. Katsina State has a total land area of about 23,561 Km2.

The Major crops are cotton, Sorghum, Sugarcane, Tomato, Soybean, and Onion. Its solid minerals are basalt, Diamonds, Feldspar, Granite, Graphite, Gold, iron ore, Kaolin, Manganese, Nickel, and Uranium.
